Labor Day of 2008 - Hurricane Gustav Ahead of Busy Week
No Holiday’s for Currency Traders
The US and Canada are closed for Labour Day on Monday - but subscribers to this blog know that I have called numerous currency moves in the past over such US Holiday’s. This Monday is no exception with Hurricane Gustav expected to make landfall on the Louisiana coast around midday Monday! (Tune in to my live webinar at 12 Noon EDT 16:00 GMT - Click here to Register)
Scheduled Economic Events - The Weather?
After the financial markets - the most unpredictable thing in the world is the weather. The weather has long been watched by the futures markets as it has a profound affect on the agricultural markets. Hurricane tracking used to be quite spotty - but has become quite good over the past few years.
Hurricane Gustav - More Dangerous than Katrina
Meteorologists and Economic Analysts consensus currently agree that Hurricane Gustav is more dangerous than Katrina as it is threatening to push a 20 foot storm surge through the Gulf of Mexico and is taking aim at the Offshore Oil wells and Onshore Refineries. The city of New Orleans is being evacuated and the Republican Convention is considering postponing it’s opening ceremonies. The possibility of Gustav affecting the currency charts is high.
